USAID Workforce Egypt Project (WFE)

Project Description

GFD’s track record speaks for itself—we’ve led groundbreaking projects that have transformed education, employment, and institutional governance. Some of our flagship initiatives include WFE & WISE

Client: USAID

Year: 2021-2025

Main Service: Workforce & Education Development

The USAID Workforce Egypt project was launched in 2021 with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the Egyptian labor market, supporting the Egyptian economy, and improving employment opportunities by bridging the gap between market needs and technical education graduates, as well as upgrading the skills of young people in the target age group (especially females). The USAID Workforce Egypt project supported MoETE in improving the quality of the education system, developing new and up-to-date new specializations/educational programs according to the needs of the labor market, and establishing partnerships with the private sector through establishing 10 International Applied Technology Schools in various economic sectors. With close collaboration with the MoETE, the USAID Workforce Egypt project enhanced the students' transition to the labor market, institutionalized the employment activities, improved teachers’ performance and leadership skills and promoting the innovation and entrepreneurship activities. All the above positively impacted the social image of technical education in society, as technical education is the future of Egypt's next renaissance.

  • Developed 22 competency-based curricula in fields like AI, software development, CNC, and robotics.
